Blaganje blah blah.

At the bus station ticket counter (blaganje, or "blah-gone-yay") in Zagreb, after a three hour bus ride starting at 6am, after getting the first bus at 5am to the autobusni kolodvor (main bus station), after getting up at 4:30am to quietly pack so as not to wake my roommates. Meaning I am tired.

The ticket counter lady: "Izvolite." (It's what they say, kind of like, "Yes?/What can I help you with?")
Me: "Dobar dan. Beograd?"
Her: "Beograd?"
Me: "Beograd."
Her, leaning in closer: "Beograd?"
Me: "Beograd."
Her: "Srbija?"
Me: "Yes."
Her: "You speak English?"
Me: "Yes."
Her: "Beograd?"
Me: "Beograd. Srbija."
Her: "At two o'clock?"
Me: "Yes."

I thought it might be because, despite there being a bus route and a bus traveling there four times a day, no one goes to Belgrade from Zagreb ever, and especially not crappily Hrvatski-speaking and English-speaking sunburnt Japanese girls. But later I remembered there is a town near Zadar called Biograd (bee-oh-grahd), so that might've been the issue at stake.

Language-gnarling aside, yes, this means I am in Belgrade, Serbia (no longer "Serbia and Montenegro). The amount of bus riding I did in yesterday alone spans more than the distance I've traveled my entire trip by quite a bit. I'm kind of proud of that.

It is rainy and London-y here in Belgrade, and I love it. My skin is annoyed with sun for the time being, so I am enjoying the wind and the drizzle, especially walking through Kalemegdan Citadel (huge fortress and park) and this big big city.

Anyway my time is running out so I gotta renew, but let's just say for now, I'm lovin' Belgrade.
