Already, a reminder of home.

As a part of my language training in Serbian, I've been listening to the online radio station from B92. It's a lot of fun to listen to; sometimes the DJs will play old favorites like "Yesterday" by the Beatles, and sing along (quite well, actually!) in Serbian accent. Mostly I listen to it to get a feel for sentence and dialogue patterns; I don't actually understand much of it at all.

Anyway, tonight I was listening, and they started playing one of my late favorites "Other Side of the World" by KT Tunstall. Now, obviously music gets around the world, just like news or fashion or anything else, but it was particularly nice to hear this tune since it's an instore play at the Barnes, and expressly the only album I never got sick of hearing at work. I've got fond memories of working both on the bookfloor and cafe listening to this song.

One of the best parts of traveling is knowing that little parts of home pop out and surprise you when you least expect it. Oftentimes they remind you both of how far and how near home is.

And the title was oh so appropriate.
